Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night...

Do not go gentle into that good night Old age should burn and rave at close of day Rage, rage against the dying of the light Though wise men at their end know dark is right Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay Rage, rage against the dying of the light Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way Do not go gentle into that good night Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay Rage, rage against the dying of the light And you, my father, there on the sad height Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray Do not go gentle into that good night Rage, rage against the dying of the light

Viewing through mist laden eyes Outstretched hands never permeating The tender miasma coating reality A world beyond seperated through veils Drifting on cold winds, swept in its hold Voice stolen from mine lungs as vapour Dissipating and taken to blackening skies Solemn in disquiet watching Autumns fade A fallen star whimpering in its descent Whose presence none did look above to see Shedding the remainder of the light My pyre growing darker with dancing embers The creeping of uncalm wraiths enclosing Sweeping me up in icy tendrils of embrace Held tenderly as chilling spells enraptured myself The deafening miasma did grow bolder The world beyond grew ever more distant It's warm promises and bewitching sigts Fading in murk as rejected light did leave There I knelt as one in the dark cloistered in mine night Shades and spectres dance in my vision Mocking my solitude with courting gestures Glistening in the sun in coloured realms That my feeble grasp could never reach Confined as I am to my graven prison

In the ruins of Eden ablaze I watch you dance between trees Flames licking at your heels Caressing your twisting form Sensual and perfect in all grace As the distance grows And you fade into the smokes Of a world torn away Choking on vicious poisons watch paradise go up in flame All the leaves are curled and dead The wind screams our condemnation We bit of the apple so sweet in poison And the chasm did open between us In the ruins of our Eden ablaze with our folly We dreamed of dances beneath amethyst skies Crystal eyes reflecting the gleaming stars Now bitter ash lingers on entwined tongues Visions lay buried beneath falling heavens As I watch you dissipate into the distance

All is cold and frozen Frozen the sea, frozen the sky Frozen is death, but I cannot die Cannot die As the snow falls To cover this all And all is cold And cold is all All is cold and cold is all Cold Frozen Frozen is heaven and frozen is hell And I am dying in this living human shell I am a dying God, coming into human flesh I am a dying God, coming into human flesh I am a dying God, coming into human flesh I am a dying God Frozen my heart Frozen my soul Frozen my love I am a dying God, coming into human flesh I am a dying God, coming into human flesh I am a dying God, coming into human flesh I am a dying God, coming into human flesh I am a dying God, coming into human flesh I am a dying God, coming into human flesh I am a dying God, coming into human flesh I am a dying God, coming into human flesh

Inside the cavernous womb Where grows the death of man The tomb of all aspirations Choked in malicious poisons The prison of fermenting flesh Plucked eyes and screaming maw Wrapped in decaying shrouds Cloaked in the guise of midnight Never to be free of these binding chains Holding us in the void In this cracked and splintered world Nothing new can be born to light Drowning in melancholic depths Voice lost to the abyss of blackness A corona of razors upon my brow Bejeweled in eternal dusky shadow Crowned wanderer in the sea of fog Ruler of the grave of dying moonlight This kingdom built with bloody hands Lies crumbled in ruin, neglected and dead Devoid of all life, no hearts beat within Broken and battered no fight left within

Seedless passing into the light Folly and toil, rending of limb Sown fields bearing no fruit Tattered endeavours to none shown Sorrowful eyes turned to the skies Fleeting glimpses into what may have been Of fertile soils birthing great futures Passing into dark and shades of naught Burning the fields that you once did sow With tender hand, eyes filled with prayer Bearing the silent spores of our demise Dead fairytales now form molten tombs Great castles of fortune now lie in ruin Skeletal structure where once laughter held Dances through great halls now memory Spectres reflected in the shades of the discarded Beneath the mocking light of distant stars Visions of what once may have been Descend as poison on blank vacant eyes The fields of your fortune have become as ash Burning the fields that you once did sow The seeds are dead and land filled with rot The cruel turning of time brings no promise Of brighter times under clearer skies Only the inevitable end of all endeavours

From the dirge rose to taint her eyes That forever were tinted by starlight Blinded they would be, split from the shine Prey to the hidden wishes of mankind To take the glow that she held within And feed it to the hungering wolves that wait Gambling with the abyss again With every step out of the darkness Frantically clawing at her heels to hold Onto the prize that slips from its embrace Her heart a burning star slowly fading Vampires forever draining it of light Meandering through streets of spectres Shadows crawling across damp walls Stalking and prowling following the shine Hungering for another taste of its gleam To stave away the deepening despair That haunt their follies and solitary lives Priests of disorder clipping the wings Of those who would reach past the night To touch the deep rays of moonlight That illuminate their winding paths Laden with serpents in wait Encircling those who wander too far

I am the devil His world is a winter of hell His rhythm is watched in pain He dances well Tortured by solitude I bleed and bleed Tortured by myself This life is hell I am an angel Who bows to suicide Can't breathe if it wakes me And then I'll die Angels are crying There is no love You should be masters of hate, Dark of night without love I am the devil His world is a winter of hell His rhythm is watched in pain He doesn't move Tortured by solitude I bleed with hate Tortured by myself this life is hell

about

Inspired by the poem 'Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night' this album explores themes of unfulfilled potential, regret, loss, despair and the embracing of your shadow side. All portrayed through a medium of raw, aggressive and hateful melancholic black metal
