The second (03:01) I heard that angry bellow gurgling upwards as from the depths of hell, conquering the composition, rising in intensity, and climaxing more than half a minute later (a geyser of blood spouting up from Tartaros, breaching subterranean roofs and spewing forth onto the face of the earth), I was engrossed hook, line and sinker. Drawn into the underworldly dark. Vocal performances like these never fail to conjure a grin on my face.

Certains vont bondir à l'idée de "rafraîchir" le black metal dépressif mais c'est bien à cette tâche que se consacre Funeral Fornication dans Solitude and Suicide. Les mélodies lancinantes tournent en boucle ("Channeling Volatile Energy"), Vultyrous hurle son désespoir à s'en déchirer les cordes vocales et la production est distante. Mais c'est surtout par les synthés qu'il surprend car ils sont très dramatiques voire théâtraux, ils nous attirent dans la tourmente comme le chant des sirènes...
